Kitsune Hame
Apr. 21st, 2010 05:06 amWoke early this morning; couldn't sleep. Went downstairs around 4 am. Twenty minutes later, heard a noise--sounded kind of the cat with a hairball. As I went to find him, Greg got up, too. Nope, kitty was outside, sitting at the door.
I listened to whatever animal it was yell outside--close by--for a few minutes before coming inside. Internet reveals that it was a fox's territorial cry. We heard the same call a couple of weeks ago from behind the shed.
It also seems that foxes and cats can be fairly neutral towards one another, so it doesn't sound like I have much to worry about in regards to a fox going after the cat. If he were young, aged, injured, or they needed food, I'm sure it'd be a different story, but he's a tough bugger. Hooray!
