"Blizzard" of '05
Apr. 10th, 2005 11:46 pmSnow. Lots of snow. Ended up going over to Tim’s for a while, though. Roads weren’t nearly as bad as the news was trying to make them out to be (“If you don’t have to be out on the roads, stay home!”), but I’m glad that there was virtually no traffic.
Coming home was a bit hairy. The roads were wet and very slushy, so it stuck on the inside of the wheel wells. The tires would rub on the accumulated crapola and subsequently yank the steering around a bit, but just kept it slow, low, and steady, and made it home just fine.
Note of humor: leaving Tim’s, I had to clean off the car. Peabody refused to move from Tim’s front stoop. I had to go and pick him up and carry him out to the car. Then, when we got home, he refused to get out of the car. I had to grab the back of his sweater and forcibly chuck him out across my lap. *laugh*
